With two decades of combined legal and non-profit work experience, I bring a unique set of skills and expertise to my work as a consultant to non-profit organizations. As a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court and a litigation associate at Boston law firms Nixon Peabody and Prince, Lobel & Tye, I developed important analytical, strategic, problem solving, advising, and negotiation skills. My work as a major gift fundraiser for Phillips Academy, Walnut Hill School, and Boston College Law School provided me with the opportunity to cultivate and solicit 6 and 7-figure major gift prospects as part of four capital campaigns and to work closely with various heads of school, deans, faculty members, trustees, and key volunteers.

As a consultant for The Wayland Group, I was able to combine my legal and fundraising experiences in my work advising non-profit organization clients in the areas of fundraising, leadership development, and planning. While at The Wayland Group I served as a consultant to a variety of non-profit organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, Dexter-Southfield Schools, The Forsyth Institute, Huntington Theatre Company, Mattapan Community Health Center, Museum of Science, Stoneleigh-Burnham School, Tenacity, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Worcester Academy.

In 2013, I founded Advancement Advisers and as principal of the firm continue to provide hands-on, strategic, and tactical advice to non-profit organizations in Boston and throughout Massachusetts. Some of my recent and current clients include: Curious Learning: A Global Literacy Project, Inc., The Dimock Center, Emerson College, The Nature Connection, OUT MetroWest, REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, and Zoo New England.

I have been a frequent speaker on a variety of advancement topics at the invitation of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Massachusetts Chapter), Bank of America Charitable Foundation and Associated Grant Makers’ Nonprofit Learning Institute, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (District I), The Alliance for Nonprofit Growth and Opportunity, and Women in Development of Greater Boston.

For over 25 years, I have served in a number of volunteer roles. I currently serve as a director of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and Room to Grow and as a trustee of Phillips Academy. I have also served the development profession most notably as vice president of Women in Development of Greater Boston, co-chair of the 2009 CASE District I Conference, and vice president of The Friday Forum. I am a vice president and director of the Empire Loan Charitable Foundation, which I co-founded with my husband, Michael Goldstein, in 2011. In 1999, I was awarded Phillips Academy’s Distinguished Service Award in recognition of my many years of volunteer service to Andover. I am the youngest graduate ever to receive this honor.

I am a graduate of Phillips Academy and hold a B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College (CT) and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
